Where Is Wanda at the End of ‘WandaVision’ Episode 9?

WandaVision‘s series finale does wrap up the story of the weirdness occurring in Westview. While the episode offers both narrative and emotional closure, there are also a decent number of loose ends that will very likely factor into forthcoming MCU adventures.

Episode 8 ended with Wanda facing down Agatha, who had both Tommy and Billy entrapped. Now that Agatha has figured out that Wanda is the Scarlet Witch of legend, her ultimate goal is to suck away Wanda’s power for herself, as she’s “someone who knows what to do with it.”

Initially, Wanda somehow manages to take Agatha down temporarily with some help from a telekinetically powered flying car (in a Wizard of Oz homage). But as she takes advantage of the short break to tell her boys to go inside, White Vision arrives with a directive from his new S.W.O.R.D. masters, and that is to take Wanda out and kill Vision.

Fortunately, the color version of Vision arrives just in time to attack his doppelganger. Agatha taunts Wanda from the sidelines about how it’s awkward to see “your ex and your boyfriend together at the same party.“

Meanwhile, Monica’s watching all this happening from afar after being kidnapped by Pietro. While he still has Quicksilver’s powers, Monica comprehends that the man holding her imprisoned is Agatha’s pawn and, in reality, an actor named Ralph Bohner. After Monica manages to break the literal tie around his neck, powering Agatha’s influence over him, she’s free to join the battle transpiring outside.

Vision faces off against White Vision and manages to engage with him on a classic identity metaphysics question: The Ship of Theseus. A thought experiment very relevant to their respective situations, as two recreations of the same entity. Vision uses this as a chance to reactivate the “data” that White Vision contains, flooding memories that cause White Vision to lay off his attack.

With White Vision flying away, Agatha tangled again in her nosy neighbor persona, and the FBI in control of S.W.O.R.D.’s unlawful shenanigans, things are pretty much wrapped up. Now it’s time for Wanda to set things right and say goodbye to her family.

Wanda and family go home, and they tuck their sons into bed as the hex outside grows ever closer.

“Boys… thanks for choosing me to be your mom,”

She and Vision then go downstairs for yet another goodbye.

Vision has some concerns about the nature of his reality, especially about who he is.

“You, Vision, are of the piece of the mind stone that lives in me. You are a body of wires and blood and bone that I created. You are my sadness and my hope. But mostly, you’re my love.”

Wanda

“I have been a voice with no body. A body but not human. And now a memory made real. Who knows what I might be next? We have said goodbye before so it stands to reason…”

Vision

“We’ll say hello again.”

The second post-credit scene answers a question about Wanda’s whereabouts after the events of WandaVision. We see Wanda alone in a cabin way in the middle of nowhere. The scene briefly discloses that Wanda is merely a projection developed by the real Wanda, aka the Scarlet Witch.

Wanda is reading the Darkhold book, a book she took from Agatha that has dark magic information. The book’s “power can corrupt the reader, and even lead to tears in the fabric of reality itself. Since the book contains information on the Scarlet Witch, then it’s likely Wanda is wanting to find out exactly who and what she is, and clearly she has already learned some new skills from it, such as the ability to separate herself into two beings.”

Somehow, Wanda hears her sons Timmy and Billy (who vanished along with Westview) shouting for help. Does that mean she’s going to try to find them in an alternate reality?
