New Matrix 4 Posters Tease the Architect, Sati, and Agent Smith

The Matrix: Resurrections has released character posters of its eight main cast members. A few parallels point to who could be playing the Architect, Sati, and Agent Smith.

After fans were disappointed with the shoddy work done on the previous posters, this comes as a relief for those apprehensive about Resurrections. One thing is for sure—Matrix 4 has definitely changed up the color palette, going for more bright, vibrant tones in contrast to the trilogy’s signature white, black, and green hues.

Here’s a look at Neo, Trinity, Morpheus, and Bugs:

Fans will have to deal with the fact that this is how Neo looks now. Next up, we have posters for Niobe and the unnamed characters of Neil Patrick Harris, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Jonathan Groff.

So far, Jonathan Groff’s character has been undisclosed. But fans have observed that Groff is holding a desert eagle in his hand, making him either Agent Smith or a replacement Agent, playing the same type of character.

Another hint comes from Neil Patrick Harris’ poster, who poses very similarly to the Architect from the trilogy. As Neo’s “therapist,” we also see him prescribing the blue pills.

Lastly, it is speculated that Chopra-Jonas will be playing an adult version of Sati. They even have the same hairdo!

These theories are not all that far off since we know the film is not hesitant to recast (see Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s Morpheus) if it lines up with the story.

However, given that director Lana Wachowski has said Matrix 4 will have quite a few twists and turns, it is left to be seen if these characters will be the same as the trilogy or a different version of themselves.

With only a month to go, we might also get a final trailer that gives us a little more insight into the movie. The Matrix: Resurrections will be in theatres and on HBO Max on December 22.
