Cobra Kai Season 4 Ending Explained: Who Won the All-Valley Tournament?

Cobra Kai recently released season 4 on Netflix and gave us quite a few jolts with some major events taking place. I’m not totally surprised since the show has always managed to keep us on the edge of our seats.

Nevertheless, if we look back at the major developments of this season, the first topic of discussion would definitely be the All-Valley Tournament.

Tory and Hawk won the All-Valley Tournament as per the results. Hawk defeated Robby but that did not secure Miyagi-Do’s win over Cobra Kai as Sam lost to Tory. Also, there are doubts about the legitimacy of the win as Silver was seen with the referee after the tournament.

Here’s everything you need to know about the ending of Season 4, including the results of the All-Valley Tournament.

Who Wins the All-Valley Tournament?

Officially, Tory and Hawk are considered to be the winners of the All-Valley Tournament at the end of Season 4.

In the latest version, the tournament introduced two notable changes—the inclusion of a skills competition and a gendered division in the tournament for fighting.

Tory & Hawk

In the men’s division, there were some fierce tussles and fighting, including a showdown between allies. Miguel had a strong face-off against Hawk before the finals, but unfortunately, he had a muscle pull that ruined his chances of winning over Hawk.

So, in the finals, Hawk managed to pull off a victory against Cobra Kai’s Robby Keene. However, Hawk’s victory was not equal to the victory of Team Miyagi-Do.

For Miyagi-Do to defeat Cobra Kai, Samantha’s victory against Tory in the women’s version was also essential. Though the competition was tough and both Tory and Sam put up a good fight, Tory managed to get a victory over Sam and thus secured an overall dojo victory for Cobra Kai.

Cobra Kai’s dojo win basically means Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang can no longer be considered dojos and Johnny and Daniel cannot be senseis anymore.

But, something else gives us a chance to question the legitimacy of this victory. At the end of the tournament, Tory spotted Terry Silver paying off the referee which definitely urged us to rethink the fairness of the decision.

We can’t say for sure whether the win was genuinely just because Tory put up a good fight. But it can also be that the decisions of the official were in Tory’s favor because of Silver paying him off.

Where Did Miguel Go?

Miguel left after the All-Valley Tournament. He left a note, through which Carmen found out that he had left for Mexico to find his father.

After this, we see Carmen being worried about her son, which is natural. But it seems like Miguel’s father not being a good man was not the only reason for Carmen’s worry, as Johnny assumed.

At the end of the scene, Carmen reveals that Miguel’s father is actually not even aware that he has a son. So, we can expect something interesting in the upcoming seasons.

Terry Silver’s Betrayal of John Kreese

After John Kreese and Terry Silver successfully defeated Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang, it was obvious that their initial plan of expanding Cobra Kai was what they would focus on. But Terry Silver had his own set of plans in mind.

Terry Silver’s Betrayal Of John Kreese

Silver understood well that Kreese was his weakness, so soon after the revelation, he made sure Kreese got arrested for the assault of Stingray. If you have been following the show, you know that Terry Silver is the one who assaulted Stingray.

So naturally, Stingray’s betrayal does seem a little shocking for the fans. So here’s what happened.

During the beating, Silver constantly asks Stingray how desperate he is to join Cobra Kai, indicating that he’d probably told Stingray to give John Kreese’s name out when asked about his assault.

As expected, Stingray did exactly that because he was pretty desperate to join Cobra Kai again. Clearly, Silver bribed him into accusing Kreese of the assault.

Will Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang Not Be Dojos Anymore?

According to Kreese’s agreement with Johnny and Daniel, if Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang lose the tournament to Cobra Kai, they would no longer be dojos. Also, Johnny and Daniel would not be senseis anymore.

But the fact that Silver paid the official, most likely to manipulate the results of the tournament, questions the validity of Cobra Kai’s win because we are not even sure if it’s legitimate.

Also, as per Daniel’s words in Mr. Miyagi’s grave, he has no plans of accepting the agreement. Daniel even gets help from an unexpected ally, Chozen Toguchi.

Toguchi agreed to help Daniel bring Miyagi-Do’s respect back. In Season 3, we saw that Toguchi knows certain tricks that Miyagi did not teach Daniel. He could be a loophole in Kreese’s agreement with Johnny and Daniel.

However, there is also a chance that Chozen could go back to his old evil ways just like Terry Silver did. Guess we’ll just have to wait and find out.
