Rick And Morty’s Special Music Video Teases An Emotional S5 Finale

Rick and Morty have had their fair share of arguments but their latest squabble may be the one that breaks them apart, as revealed in a special music video.

AdultSwim always finds innovative ways of getting fans riled up for the show and the music video titled “Borrowed Time” was no exception. Sadly, the video has now been taken down but we scooped you details of the entire affair.

It was already teased that the two-part finale would see the grandfather and grandson separate from each other.

One instance of this was a clip where Morty dares Rick to replace him. And thanks to Rick’s “Wheel of Better Things than Morty,” the arrow lands on … two crows.

You’d think that Rick wouldn’t follow through — Who are we kidding? Rick goes and gets himself two crows to train as companions in his space adventures. According to AdultSwim’s Twitter, this will all make sense, coming Sunday (Sep 5):

The music video shows that Rick is not backing down on his “two crows” resolve, as he has manages to train the birds into becoming his sidekicks and making Morty a very jealous grandson.

Rick with the crows flies off to an alien planet that is ruled by cyborg crows. Things turn out for the better as Rick gets on friendly terms with the cyborg crows and flies back to Earth in a crow-shaped spacecraft.

Meanwhile on Earth, Morty has got himself in a bloody mess. We don’t know what, why or how, and neither does Rick but he doesn’t seem to care as he is seen packing his stuff to return back to the crow planet. Morty looks on forlornly as his grandfather leaves.

It is unknown if Rick is simply playing the long game and teaching his grandson a lesson.

But Morty’s sentiments are definitely in check because, despite their arguments and frustration, he does love Rick and would hate to lose his space buddy.

The show has a confirmed Season 6 and 7, so we know this is not the end of Rick and Morty as the iconic duo traversing across the universe. Nonetheless, if the two do part ways, it will make for one emotional season finale.

Part one titled “Forgetting Sarick Morthsall” airs September 5 on Adult Swim.
