Why Does Chloe Stop Seeing Dan’s Ghost In Lucifer?

Before I start two minutes of silence because we won’t see our favorite Devil again, here’s to Lucifer and his fantastic run of six long seasons. With Lucifer Morningstar bidding us all farewell in an emotional finale, fans are left with just a few questions about some of the plot points and characters.

One of the fascinating questions I had was about Dan and his ghost. I am glad he came back, even if it was a ghost because despite giving the character some semblance of ending, it was still incomplete for Dan and Chloe.

Their relationship was rocky right from the beginning, and they eventually split, but they were still parents to Trixie and had good chemistry as two people. So Dan had to come back.

Lucifer Season 6 Ep – 1 : Amenadiel necklace Protects Chloe

So we know about Chloe’s super strength due to Amenadiel’s necklace and her urge to keep Azrael’s blade. After a bout between Lucifer and her, he decides to take it to heaven. However, before that, he wanted her to meet Dan for a proper goodbye. Something she didn’t get the last time.

After this, Chloe stops seeing Dan’s ghost. If you’re as to why this happens, don’t worry, I’ve got you covered.

Chloe had Amenadiel’s necklace and Azrael’s blade. The necklace gave her celestial powers such as superhuman strength and the ability to see and hear ghosts.

When Lucifer takes Azrael’s knife to heaven, the connection with Amenadiel’s necklace breaks, and the necklace’s powers will wear off. As a result, Chloe stops seeing Dan’s ghost.

Amenadiel’s Necklace

Chloe had obtained Amenadiel’s necklace at the end of Season 5. It protected her from the war between Angels and Demons. She decided to hold onto it and even derived superhuman strength from it.

Throughout the season, she owns the power, but it starts to consume and corrupt her conscience towards the end. When everyone thinks Azrael’s blade is missing in episode 5, we find out that Chloe hid it and didn’t want to give it up.

Under the influence of these two powerful artifacts, she attacks Lucifer and almost stabs him. However, Lucifer jokes a bit, brings her back to her senses, and promises he’ll take the blade to heaven.

But before that, he wants Dan to meet her, hoping that the necklace will give her powers besides strength. Due to the necklace, she can see and hear Dan’s soul, though she can’t touch him. Of course, the two talk about old times, and he makes her realize how she doesn’t need the necklace to become superhuman.

Why does Chloe stop seeing Dan’s ghost in Lucifer?
Azrael’s Blade

Lucifer mentions that once the knife is taken to heaven, Chloe wouldn’t see Dan again. We know the relation between Azrael’s blade and Amenadiel’s necklace is that they are two important parts of the Flaming Sword. So since Chloe was under the influence of two factors of the sword, she could see Dan’s ghost.

However, when Azrael’s Blade left the Earth, the power became much more diminished, and the necklace’s powers wore off too. Hence Chloe stopped seeing Dan.

As I said, we had the answers for you. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to rewatch the entirety of the last season to relive the best moments. I guess I’m not ready to let go of Lucifer. Not yet!
