Will Captain Rex join The Bad Batch in S2 of the Star Wars spinoff?

Captain Rex has been a trustworthy ally of the Bad Batch since they deferred from the Galactic Empire during the Order 66 Execution. But Rex’s plans for the rebellion reach far beyond the freedom of the Bad Batch. So, will Captain Rex join Clone Force 99 in the fight against the Empire?

After faking his death in Clone Wars series finale, Rex returned to the shadows in Star Wars: The Bad Batch and helped the team uninstall their chips and any other clone who might go against the Empire.

CT-7567 or Rex, the former clone captain of 501st Batallion, will return to The Bad Batch in season 2. He’ll likely be responsible for the rising number of clones who dare raise their will against the Empire in the second season of The Bad Batch.

The captain has a new mission for Clone Force 99, which is a mystery teased near the end of the season 2 trailer, but will he join the team on this mission? The Rex we know in Rebels is a hollow shell of the captain we’ve witnessed in Clone Wars and its animated spinoff. We bet this has something to do with the events after the Clone Wars, which Bad Batch is currently featuring.

Our working theory is after Rex and Bad Batch has recruited a fleet of clones who can take down the center of the Empire, they launch an attack.

But since we already know the loss Rex faced in Rebels, even though the nature of said defeat remains a mystery, it must have something to do with a failed combination with the Bad Batch.

While Rex has previously had no trouble working with the Bad Batch, we think the series will stick with this arrangement between the two allies. Star Wars: The Bad Batch will return to Disney+ with season 2’s first two episodes, premiering on January 4, 2023.
