Will Eleven and Mike get back together in Stranger Things?

Eleven and Mike’s relationship has been one of the most heartwarming parts of Stranger Things, right from the beginning. However, since the last season, as these kids have grown into teenagers, their relationship has been quite rocky.

It got a little more strained when Eleven had to move with Joyce, Will, and Jonathan to another place. The show starts with El writing a letter to Mike and being excited about spring break because she’ll see Mike after six long months.

However, when they meet, all is not good. She asks why Mike never says “I love you” in his letters. Mike doesn’t even have an answer, and before anything could be sorted, El is taken away by the cops for hitting her classmate. From there, she’s taken by Sam Owen to the facility in Nevada to Dr. Martin Brenner to get her powers back.

So, one of the main questions fans ask is, “Will Eleven and Mike get back together?”

We don’t know if Mike and Eleven might get back together in Stranger Things Season 4 Part 2. El signed the last letter to Mike as “From El,” which means she feels emotionally distant from him.

In Season 3 itself, the high school relationship drama had begun. However, the two didn’t necessarily sort out their unresolved issues, such as Mike taking Eleven for granted, because they were stuck in a monster fight.

So much had already happened that the two had to say goodbye in the aftermath because El was shifting to California with Joyce. However, in Season 4, we see the two writing to each, and it is revealed that they have been doing so consistently for the last six months.

But things are far from being rosy and perfect for this teenage couple. Eleven is barely adjusting to her new school, but she paints an all-is-good picture in the letters to Mike. Moreover, it doesn’t help that her classmates constantly bully her to the point that she wishes she could use her powers to harm them.

When spring break arrives, Mike reaches California and meets her after six long months. She continues to lie like before, but the truth eventually comes down, and she breaks. The insecurities about how she’s so different from the rest kick in, and she thinks that nobody loves her.

She even questions Mike and asks why he can’t even say that he loves her in his letters. Before anything could be sorted out, the police come to arrest Eleven because she had hit one of her school bullies with a rollerskate.

From there, she is picked up by Sam Owens because Lt. Colonel Sullivan thinks she’s behind the killings in Hawkins. However, Owens, who had previously helped Eleven and her friends, says that only she can fight Vecna, the villain behind the horrific murders in Hawkins.

Owens offers her a chance to regain her powers and fight Vecna to save her friends, which she takes. The two go to Indiana, to Dr. Martin Brenner’s facility. She also leaves a letter for Mike and tells him that she’s gone to get her powers back.

It is signed as “From El,” and Mike realizes that he might lose Eleven forever. While everything is purely speculative, I don’t think Mike and Eleven can completely reunite and sort out their differences in Stranger Things Season 4 Part 2.

Part 2 will have only two episodes, and even if each is like a movie, there’s too much happening for the characters to reach a resolution when it comes to their relationships and emotions. Moreover, since Stranger Things Season 5 is confirmed, a perfect happy ending for the show’s central couple might seem a little far away for now.

So, even if they decide to be together or get some time to discuss how they feel about their relationship, I don’t see a complete closure yet. Whether I’m right or wrong, only time will tell. Stranger Things Season 4 Part 2 premieres on July 1 on Netflix. Don’t miss it!
