Hawkeye’s Rogers: The Musical Might Make Way For Future Marvel Musicals

In a fun interview with The Reel Rejects, Hawkeye producer Trinh Tran shared that she wouldn’t stay away if there were any Marvel musical plans.

Disney Plus’ Christmas Special Hawkeye series premiered on December 24. The Captain America musical was the one thing everyone looked forward to the most.

After fans got a glimpse into how cool it looked, the hosts asked if they and the fans could get more of it. An excited Tran replied,

I’d love to make a musical one day for Marvel, right? Who wouldn’t?

She even added how the original idea came about, the initial idea, and how fun it became.

Hawkeye Producer Talks Rogers Musical, Wants To Make
Rogers: The Musical in Hawkeye

Rogers: The Musical started out as an idea in the backdrop as we were in the writers’ room. It wasn’t anything that he [Clint Barton] was gonna go and attend an event, it was just sort of, “We’ll see billboards of it. How fun would it be if we actually picked an instance in the past that the Avengers have experienced and do a musical about that?

Tran also shared that the idea was of the entire Avengers team being invited to the musical, but only Clint showed up.

It [The musical idea] just grew and grew into an actual event. “Why not have the Avengers be invited to something like this and then no one shows up but Clint Barton?

Rogers: The Musical gave fans a light, fun take on the Battle of New York City. There’s Captain America, Hulk, Ant-Man (who “wasn’t even there” according to Clint), and even the late Natasha Romanoff.

The entire sequence of Clint, the Avenger who was actually present in the battle, is nothing short of awkward and showy. Half of the things either didn’t happen or were exaggerated. Clint’s expressions during the musical had only three stages: confusion, rolling the eyes, and exhaustion.

Tran added that they aimed to make the musical fun, in line with the show, and considering the reception, they nailed it.

It was more lighthearted and that’s what we were gravitating for the series which made complete sense.
