Will Poison Ivy Be In Batman: Long Halloween Part 2?

What’s latest on Gotham City? Poison Ivy is back and we know it!

Jokes apart, not that DC fans need it but here’s some content. Recently, Warner Brothers released new stills from the upcoming animated film Batman: The Long Halloween Part 2, featuring the villainous Poison Ivy. Katie Sackhoff plays the infamous Poison Ivy in the most awaited sequel to Batman: The Long Halloween Part One.

Batman: The Long Halloween, Part Two - Official Trailer | DC

In the trailer of Batman: The Long Halloween Part Two, Poison Ivy makes an appearance as Carmine “The Roman” Falcone’s employee. If you’ve watched part one, (if you haven’t what on earth are you waiting for?) then the mid-credits scene must have made an impression for you. Poison Ivy already made her mysterious appearance.

Along with her, Mad Hatter and Scarecrow’s appearance is also teased. Those of us who have grown up with DC Comics and literally lived in the DC Universe, do not need an explanation as to what this means.

These characters are not just antagonists, but they’re as much a part of our lives as they are for Batman. Besides, the mind-freaking-blowing Part One already won too many hearts. I just can’t wait to see what Part Two has in store.

These animated films are based on the DC Comics storyline written by Jeph Loeb and drawn by Tim Sale. So it goes without saying that those of us already familiar with the comics know what’s coming up. But that does not decrease the excitement in anyway, does it?

1. Who Is Poison Ivy?

Fans of the DC Universe must be more than just familiar with the name already. But for newbies, Poison Ivy is a supervillain who appears in the DC Comics, particularly in Batman stories. Not to mention a fan favourite and massive crush!

Personally, she is one of my most favorite characters from the DC Universe, with quite some interesting layers to her unique character. One thing about DC is that it never disappoints with regard to characters.

Be it Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn or Catwoman, I have always been in awe of them. Poison Ivy in particular reminds me a lot about Medusa, another badass female character from Greek mythology. Poison touch? Check. Beauty? Check. Ability to control minds? Check. Come on, even the drawings resemble Medusa.

2. Will Poison Ivy Appear in Long Halloween Part Two?

In all probability, Poison Ivy is all set to appear and play a significant role in Batman: The Long Halloween Part Two. Teaser images released by Warner Bros confirmed the same, she appeared in the trailer and her entry was already teased in the previous part.

Katie Sackhoff plays Poison Ivy but the length of her role is unknown as of now.

But considering her popularity and the teaser we got in the post-credits sequence in the first installment, I think she is going to be pretty important in the film. In the first part, Poison Ivy appears in the mid-credits scene.

So her appearance has already been teased in Part One. In the scene, she shakes Batman’s hand and his eyes turn green, which means she has him in control. Aha!

Essentially, Poison Ivy is Falcone’s employee. Falcone has been hiring supervillains so he can get hold of Holiday Killer. So, Poison Ivy is also hired by Falcone to deal with the mysterious Holiday Killer.

As we know, Part One was also about him. The serial killer is still on the run after killing Alberto Falcone. He even left a jack-o-lantern and the murder weapon at the crime scene. But he is still on the loose and it goes without saying that Part Two will have much to do with Holiday Killer.

3. What Is Long Halloween Part Two About?

Batman: The Long Halloween Part Two is the sequel to Batman: The Long Halloween Part One.

While the mysterious Holiday Killer is still alive and free, Bruce Wayne is under the power of Poison Ivy and Batman is nowhere to be found! After Batman is freed by an unexpected ally, he discovers the real culprit behind all this: Carmine Falcone.

After Part One left us with a brilliant teaser, I can’t wait to watch part two. If you’re familiar with the DC Comics, you already know the rest. But there’s a lot left to look forward to; the animation is top notch, there maybe interesting changes and ofcourse the joy of watching Batman on screen again.

What else would an OG DC fan ask for?

4. Who Else Can We Expect In Long Halloween Part Two?

Apart from the arrival of the evil Poison Ivy, The Long Halloween Part Two is all set to introduce Mad Hatter and Scarecrow into the picture as well.

Scarecrow and Mad Hatter

Though the focus for our hero Batman is mainly on Holiday Killer, Poison Ivy along with Mad Hatter and Scarecrow will obviously make things way more difficult that it already is and thus, add to the chaos in Gotham City.

Those who are familiar with the storyline from the comics, already know what it means for each supervillain to appear in the upcoming film. But those who aren’t, only time will tell for you when we get to watch Part Two.

In the film, Mad Hatter will be voiced by John Dimaggio, known for voicing Joker in Batman: Under the Red Hood. Scarecrow will be played by Robin Atkin Downes. I am really looking forward to watching Bruce Wayne battle these villains on screen. DC fans, you relate for sure.
