Marvel’s Loki is just two episodes into Season 1 and fans already want to know if it will have a Season 2. That’s what you call craze.
Marvel’s Loki has turned a number of heads with an interesting episode 2 recently, where Lady Loki, an evil variant of Loki was introduced. We are all waiting to see more of Lady Loki and definitely wondering where it all goes.
Loki seems to be quite a huge project for the MCU and the growing popularity of the titular character seems to be contributing to the hype. I would bet there will be another season. Come on, 6 episodes cannot be all we get to see of the god of mischief.
1. Will There Be A Second Season?
As of writing this piece, Disney+ or Marvel has not officially announced the renewal of Loki for a second season. But fans can expect an announcement pretty soon. It is on the cards. Some rumours even suggest the production of Season 2 has already begun.
Production Weekly published an issue listing all the new productions taking place and hiring. Published on November 5th, the list included shows like Brooklyn 99, The Flash, The Mandalorian etc and a new season of Loki which was titled “Architect”.
Tom Hiddleson will reprise his role as Loki, and rumours suggest that the shooting for Loki Season 2 is likely to begin in January 2022. So, we can expect an official announcement quite soon! Maybe soon after Season 1 ends.
2. Will There Be Multiple Seasons Of Loki?
I think of all the shows on the cards for Marvel, Loki is one with the highest potential for success and with a wide scope, so there are high chances that the show will be renewed for multiple seasons.
As of Season 1, we already know that protagonist Loki is a variant and exists in another timeline altogether. Mobius even confirms in Episode 2 that there are several variants of Loki already. So there is a lot of scope to explore different variants and timelines.
Besides, with the introduction of Lady Loki, the show even suggests he is gender fluid, which is whole new dimension altogether.
So, there are a lot of side tracks and quite a few variants of Loki whom we are yet to meet. So there isn’t a lack of content or scope. If Loki continues to be as popular and successful in its later episodes, then there’s no reason why it won’t be renewed for multiple seasons.
3. Will Marvel Replace Loki?
We do not have an official confirmation yet, but there are talks that Tom Hiddleson is more or less done with the MCU, atleast as far as the films are concerned.
The original Loki died in Avengers: Infinity War and Hiddleson himself seemed to be happy with the way his character arc came to an end. So, in the Loki series we are dealing with variants of Loki.
If the show decides to introduce Kid Loki in the plot, then Hiddleson will no longer get to play Loki if his other variants are not in the picture. But we still have to look out for the remaining episodes of Loki to release to gain more perspective on this.
Tom Hiddleson as Loki is done with the MCU films as of now, but he is still playing Loki in Marvel’s latest series so we cannot yet say he is done with Loki.
4. How Much Have We Seen In Loki Season 1?
In the two episodes of Loki that has been released, we have met the variant of Loki who stole the Tesseract. He is stuck in the middle of a desert with TVA officials, who require his assistance to capture another variant of Loki.
Loki introduced Time Variance Authority and the Time Keepers, and they seem to be agitated as a variant of Loki is tempering with the sacred timeline.
At the end of Episode 2, it is revealed that this variant is none other than Lady Loki. Loki’s gender fluidity is established, and we also get to see a lot of bromance between Mobius M Mobius and Loki.
It goes without saying that there’s a lot of exciting stuff coming up in the upcoming episodes.
