Grant Gustin Reportedly Finalizing a New Deal for The Flash

On January 28, Deadline reported that actor Grant Gustin is on his way to lock in a new deal for The Flash, which means that Season 9 is definitely in store for fans.

The CW’s The Flash Season 8 is currently on a mid-season hiatus, but curiosity has been ramping up about another installment.

Deadline’s sources also give more detail into the potential upcoming season. The Flash Season 9, if (which there are high chances of) is made, will only have 15 episodes—a point Gustin reportedly capped it at from the average 20-something episodes.

The beloved Barry Allen actor is also reportedly taking an increment. His pay per episode currently stays at over $200,000—and is expected to be raised.

Another critical detail from the contract was that the initial offer was a multi-year deal. Gustin cut it down and only agreed for a year. If true, Season 9 could mean the end of Gustin’s The Flash series.

With a potential Season 9, The Flash will overthrow the longest Arrowverse show, Stephen Amell’s Arrow, which finished at Season 8.

The decision for renewal had to be made before the filming of the current season wrapped up, reports Deadline.

Gustin’s The Flash premiered in 2014 and has been the most favorite version of Barry Allen amongst the audiences. The show has even been one of the few CW shows that has constantly garnered strong viewerships and responses.

On the positive side, the series ending wouldn’t probably affect the DC Arrowverse much, and he might pop in sooner or later in other shows. The superhero has also appeared in multiple cameos across the Arrowverse, such as Supergirl, Batwoman, Arrow, and more.

Meanwhile, for the time being, Gustin will return as The Flash in Season 8 after its mid-season hiatus on March 9.
