Godzilla VS Kong 2: Working Title Teases Origins of the Two Titans

The MonsterVerse’s fifth installment, set to release in 2024 on March 15, will feature the origin of the two legendary Titans according to the working title of the upcoming film.

The MonsterVerse film is a sequel to the 2021 film Godzilla VS Kong and is currently in production. Adam Wingard will return to the director’s chair after the first film’s success under his vision. The sequel’s shooting only began at the end of July, and for now, the only actor confirmed for the film’s star list is Dan Stevens (The Guest).

The 2021 film’s actors Alexander Skarsgard (It), Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things), Rebecca Hall (Parade’s End), Brian Tyree Henry (The Woman in the Window), and Kyle Chandler (Godzilla: King of Monsters) have not confirmed their return for the 2024 sequel.

In July 2021, filming for the Monsterverse film began featuring a beach attack scene, and now there’s another update. According to the Twitter account @KDM_Monsters, the clapperboard used during filming has revealed “ORIGINS” as the working title.

The working title suggests that the origins of the two Titans, Kong and Godzilla, will be explored in the upcoming sequel. It may also put forth a different time setting featuring the old civilizations that inhabited the Hollow Earth an era before.

Since the announcement of the sequel, fans have craved insight into where the most recent MonsterVerse film will take the franchise’s story, and this title has dropped a big hint. But for now, only theories will have to satisfy the fans’ curiosity until March 2024.

Godzilla VS Kong 2 is an upcoming sci-fi action film directed by Adam Wingard. The film is the fifth installment in the MonsterVerse and is a direct sequel to Godzilla VS Kong (2021).

The plot for the film is unknown since filming began in July 2022. Dan Stevens (Beauty And The Beast) is confirmedly appearing as the film’s latest human. Alexander Skarsgard, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall, and Kyle Chandler, who starred in the previous film, have not confirmed their return in the sequel.

The film is scheduled to release in theaters on March 15, 2024.
