You Season 5: Release Date, Cast, Spoilers, and More

Excitement Alert: The much-awaited Season 4 of Netflix’s You has finally released on February 9, 2023. Woohoo!

With ‘privileged douchebags’ and a murderer ‘hiding in plain sight’, the glimpse of You Season 4 that the trailer provided would sure have gripped you from the first second. Joe appears to be battling his obsessive nature, and an ‘eat-the-rich killer’ is now obsessed with him. The tables are turned now, and I bet all of you cannot wait to see where the first part of the Season takes us.

So, what are you waiting for? Now that Season 4 has released, scroll down to see what is in store for you in Season 5. You are at the perfect place to read more about the release date, cast, spoilers, and more!

News of Netflix renewing You for Season 5 is expected soon, as Part 1 of Season 4 is currently airing, and Part 2 is announced to release on March 9, 2023. I am sure the prospect of one more season of stalking, obsession, and crime has you all on high alert like me!

1. Will there be a You Season 5?

Disappointingly, as of now, there is no confirmed news about a Season 5 for You series. However, since Netflix often renews series only past the release of the latest season and their ratings, all fans can indeed keep their hopes up high for a Season 5.

To add to our hopes, prior to the release of Season 3, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Sera Gamble, co-creator of You, hinted at You running for several seasons. “I am not scared at all of saying that we definitely could follow Joe for several more seasons.”

So, the possibility of a Season 5 is whopping high! Fingers crossed!

2. When will You Season 5 release?

As Netflix has not officially confirmed a Season 5 for You, there is no confirmed release date. However, going by the release dates of the past seasons, You Season 5 can be expected to mark our lives in late 2024. I know; too long, but isn’t the wait always worth good content? Patience, fellows.

Season 3 of You was released almost two years after the release of Season 2, which is the longest the series has gone with season breaks. Yes, that had been excruciatingly long.

Season 1 and Season 2 had a year of absence in between, while Season 4 just released after about a year and a half of Season 3. Going by these trends, Season 5 can be expected anytime between the next 1-2 years, and going by safe numbers, it could release in late 2024 if the series is renewed.

So, gear up for a wait, people, and express your love for You even more; let us encourage Netflix to give us the good news as soon as possible.

3. Will You Season 5 have two parts?

With no confirmation yet from Netflix and the show’s creators, Season 5 could be a single entity or divided into two parts, like Season 4.

With ten episodes for each season, no matter the number of parts, Season 5 could be a continuous stream of 10 episodes of our favorite stalker or two 5-episode runs of the serial killer that should not have captivated our minds this much. Let us see!

4. Who will be in the Cast of Season 5 of You?

Cast of Season 4 of You on the Season Poster

Netflix keeps us on our toes with considerable changes in the cast of You every season. It is one of the shows whose cast for the next season is very challenging to predict. With no official news, Penn Badgley as the protagonist is the only actor I can say will return.

Joe Goldberg has been the only constant character throughout the seasons of You, and Penn Badgley has sneaked into our list of favorite actors playing him. He is expected to reprise his role in Season 5. After all, what is our show without the cunning protagonist?

Tati Gabrielle as Marienne Bellamy can be expected to return in Season 5, as she is a recurring member of the cast since Season 3. She is our rock among the cast members who come and then go, never to be seen again on-screen.

With several characters killed and the others like Love and Ryan left behind for London, Season 4 hosts new characters other than our one and only Joe. Netflix could pull the rug out from under our feet again and provide a new set of characters and cast for Season 5.

Several Season 4 cast and characters can also be expected to appear in Season 5, mainly if they survive our beloved protagonist’s plans. Some of them are Charlotte Ritchie as Kate, Lukas Gage as Adam Pratt, Tilly Keeper as Lady Phoebe, Amy-Leigh Hickman as Nadia, and Ed Speelers as Rhys Montrose.

Characters from the initial seasons of You who are alive could also make a surprise appearance in Season 5, like Ellie, played by Jenna Ortega (we knew Wednesday before she became Wednesday!), and Paco, who Luca Padovan plays.

5. What will be the story of Season 5 of You?

A scene from Season 4 of You

As we are all just unraveling the mysteries and storyline of Season 4 along with the show, and since the past seasons of You have shown substantial unexpected changes in the flow of the story, it is almost impossible to predict a possible plot for Season 5.

Isn’t that exactly why we love the series so much? All that suspense and unpredictability!

With the arrival of the new Season 4 of You, speculation has just begun for the potential plot of Season 5. We will all have to wait patiently till the release of the second part of Season 4 on March 9, 2023, for any plausible exploration of the same.

However (readers in the fandom: attention!), Caroline Kepnes, author of the books You and Hidden Bodies, on which the first two seasons of You were based, is set to release her new book on April 25, 2023. That news totally made my month. Titled For You and Only You, the book will be from Joe’s perspective (yup!).Season 5 of You could be based on this new book.

One thing we know we can expect in Season 5 is a lot of murders and possibly one more identity for Joe.

6. Where will You Season 5 be set?

With Season 4’s story still mostly a mystery to us, it is difficult to speculate on the location and setting of Season 5 of You. The show could continue in London, where it is set now in Season 4, or could move to anywhere else in the world (maybe not the Arctics!).

7. Has the trailer for You Season 5 released?

No, the trailer for You Season 5 has not yet been released. Netflix still needs to renew the series and confirm a Season 5. Let us just glue our fingers crossed until then!

However, here is the link for the exciting trailer of YOU: Season 4 Part 1!

A peek of Season 4 of You

For those of you who were holding your breaths for Season 4 of You, know that you had kin in me!

In Season 4 of You, the story takes a sharp turn; it is no longer Joe who is the hunter. Instead, he and his group are being hunted, and Joe is trying to discover the murderer’s identity. Set in London, he has a new identity as Jonathan Moore, a university professor.

Super interesting, right?! The show just keeps up our expectations always! I am waiting on the edge of my seat, with you guys, for the plot to uncover in the remaining episodes of the season.

Stay tuned for the latest updates and news about Netflix’s You!
