Chapter 9 of the Young Rock Season 2 series, titled “Backyard Brawl-B-Q”, has been released on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at 5:00 pm PDT.

Young Rock Season 2 Episode 8 Recap

Dwayne’s team is in a panic as they await a diagnosis from a medical professional. As it turns out, he has food poisoning and won’t be able to make it to any of his campaign events over the next 24 hrs. Dwayne asks for Randall and he rushes to his room and asks for his help tying his tie and insists on attending the events despite being sick. He launches into a story about how he got a life-changing call from Pat Patterson in 1996.

Dwayne is asked to fly over for his debut wrestling match. Not only was this his first match for the WWF, but it was also his first match ever. The venue had a capacity of 15,000 people so the stakes were higher than ever. He also had to win this match, which was usually rare for debut matches. While he initially had trouble connecting with the crowd, he got a huge audience response and wins the match in a way that makes people remember him. The match gets him invited to a TV taping and an individual meeting with Vince.

However, the meeting didn’t go as he hoped as Vince tells him he isn’t ready for the WWF and that he needs to go to Memphis to learn the fundamentals first. Dwayne knew that this could mean he may never get the call to come back to the WWF. The next day, Dwayne feels much better and apologizes to his team for missing vital campaign events and is informed that his VP stepped in for all the events.
