Young Sheldon will soon be returning after its mid-season break with its penultimate episode—and nothing seems right.
The latest preview for Young Sheldon Season 5 Episode 21 indicates that the Cooper family is quite literally falling apart.
Sheldon opens up to a trusted person in school and confesses that the family is breaking apart. The young genius opening up about his deep emotions indicates some really troubling times at home.
The main reason for it is Mandy’s pregnancy. With the news spread to the neighborhood, Missy punched a young boy for insulting her family, which led to George Sr. and Mary’s increased arguments. All of this, in turn, affects Sheldon.

While the latest teaser takes the viewers through the scenes via Sheldon’s professor or counselor, previous teasers have shed a tad bit more light on them.
In one preview, Mary and George argue over Missy punching a young boy right in his nose. The former believes Missy should be punished for hitting the boy, but the latter believes she did the right thing to stand up for her family. While they argue, an irritated Sheldon tries his best to concentrate on his studies.
Another preview shows Georgie and Meemaw ready to give Mandy their full support despite society’s skepticism. It is clear that the Church and societal gossip are shaking up the Cooper family.
Since Georgie and Mandy’s pregnancy news, the focal point of Young Sheldon has shifted from George Sr.’s potential scandal with Brenda. However, fans will soon see Pastor Rob and George Sr. cross paths—which probably is the most interesting thing for viewers.
Young Sheldon Season 5 Episode 21 will be broadcast on CBS and streamed live on Paramount+ on May 12, 2022. The final episode of the season will be released on May 19.
