Young Sheldon Season 5 Episode 21 Recap
Mary is upset after her Bible study group flakes on her after news of the pregnancy broke out around town. She reaches out to Pastor Rob and the two of them meet over coffee. Mary confides in him and expresses that everything she was anxious about is happening. Meanwhile, Sheldon and Missy confront their peers for talking behind their backs.
Missy punches one of her classmates after he calls her family ‘white trash.’ Mary and George are called in by the school principal regarding Missy’s conduct. Mary is asked to take a leave of absence from work until things settle down and she’s told that as employees of the Church, they must be held to a higher standard. All the judgment angers George and he storms out of the office. Mandy visits Meemaw and tells her that she finally gave the news of her pregnancy to her parents.
Her parents tell her they want nothing to do with her and the baby. Meemaw comforts her and recalls that she had a similar reaction to Mary getting pregnant and says that there’s still a chance her parents might come around. Missy comes back home from school to see her mother and Pastor Rob holding hands when they were really just praying.
