Zack Snyder has shared Andy Warhol-esque character posters for his upcoming Netflix film, Army of Thieves.
The bright and pop-colored posters give five of the main characters different heist roles for the story, which takes place before the events of Army of the Dead.
Snyder tweeted the posters, and of course, the first one had to be Matthias Schweighöfer as Dieter ‘The Safecracker.’ The second one is of Nathalie Emmanuel as Gwendoline ‘The Mastermind,’ a mysterious woman who hires Deiter for a dangerous heist.
A second tweet had three posters of Guz Khan as Rolph ‘The Getaway Driver,’ Ruby O. Fee as Korina ‘The Hacker,’ and Stuart Martin as Brad Cage ‘The Action Hero.’ If the colors are an indication, this film will feel a lot more alive as compared to the first one (no pun intended).
Snyder fans did not have to wait a long time for Army of Thieves as the film arrives just about five months after Army of The Dead arrived on Netflix.
The streaming service has no intentions of slowing down as this isn’t the only prequel we’re getting for The Army franchise. An animated prequel titled Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas is also in the works alongside an untitled sequel.
Directed by Schweighöfer, Army of Thieves is set six years before the events of the first film, so it’s almost on the brink of the beginning of the zombie apocalypse.
Jonathan Cohen, Noémie Nakai, and Christian Steyer also star in the prequel, with Samira Mekibes Meza and David Bowles reprising their roles from the first film.
Netflix is also hosting a virtual screening on October 27 for the film that you can sign up for. You have to RSVP and enter your details on the website to “reserve your spot at the premiere.”
Army of Thieves will premiere on Netflix on October 29, 2021.
