Supergirl Series to End With a Rescue Mission, Marriage, and More!

We’re about to say goodbye to Supergirl, as the series will air its final two episodes on November 9. The episode synopsis reveals a rescue mission, Alex and Kelly’s wedding, and other details.

The two episodes titled “The Last Gauntlet” and “Kara” will air as a two-part series finale.

Supergirl’s main adversary this season has been the 5th dimension imp Nyxly. In the last few episodes, we see Kara race through time to get to the magical alien totems before Nyxly does.

The synopsis of The Last Gauntlet reveals that to thwart her efforts, Nyxly kidnaps one of Supergirl’s loved ones. The character in danger will be revealed in the episode. Nyxly will also be joined by Lex Luther (Jon Cryer reprising his guest star role). An epic showdown ensues.

Of course, we need to have a power balance. So, the final episodes will have an “unlikely ally” step in to help Supergirl out. Besides this, we’re also teased with the prospects of many familiar faces, including Mehcad Brooks’ Jimmy Olsen, Jeremy Jordan’s Winn Schott, and Chris Wood’s Mon-El.

Showrunner Jessica Queller promises that Supergirl’s arc has a very satisfying ending. Tie that in with a wedding and you’ve got us sold: The synopsis also states that in “Kara,” Alex and Kelly are preparing to walk down the aisle.

Fans are losing their cool over why the finale is named “Kara,” theorizing that either she gives up her powers or reveals her superhero identity:

Of course, responses to the tweet have pointed out several other possibilities straight from the comic’s canon. But my advice to all would be to give up speculating! It’s been a grand six-season run, as the show has held up the recent years of the Arrowverse by its backbone.

It’s time to kick it back and watch Supergirl do her thing for one last time. Kara’s got this.
