Jason Momoa Shot Scenes with Multiple Batman Actors for Aquaman 2

Jason Momoa, who is all set to reprise his role as Aquaman in the upcoming DC film, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, reveals that he shot scenes with various Batman actors for the film. Momoa also mentions that he is not sure which one will make the final cut.

The Aquaman sequel is finally all set to hit theaters on Christmas after facing its fair share of delays. The film is a sequel to the 2018 DC superhero flick, Aquaman, which remains the highest-grossing DC film worldwide.

Directed by James Wan, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom follows Aquaman as he forms an alliance with an unlikely partner to save Atlantis. The cast features Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Amber Heard, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Temuera Morrison, Dolph Lundgren, and Nicole Kidman.

In a conversation with The Wrap, Momoa reveals that he shot scenes with a couple of different Batman actors for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. However, the actor remained silent about which actors he is exactly referring to, considering the recent changes within the DCU.

You just don’t know what’s going on and we’ll see what the end product is.

The DCU went through major changes post the merger between its parent company, Warner Bros. and Discovery. The merger led to the cancellation of the Batgirl movie, which was supposed to include a cameo of Michael Keaton as Batman. Keaton was also rumored to make an appearance in The Flash and Aquaman 2.

We can assume that one of the actors Momoa talked about shooting with is Michael Keaton, though nothing can be confirmed yet. Another actor who Momoa may have shot with is Ben Affleck, who played Batman in Batman VS. Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) and Justice League (2017).

An Instagram post by Jason Momoa featuring Ben Affleck and himself also added to the rumors. Here’s the post in question –

As of now, the DCU is figuring out what the future of the franchise will look like under the guidance of co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran. They may change Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom to fit the narrative.

The actor who is least likely to join the DCU as Batman is Robert Pattinson, who is ironically the most successful actor to have played the role in the recent past. Pattinson starred in the 2022 film, The Batman, which is not a part of the DCU. Though we’re not sure of Gunn and Safran’s final decision about the future of Batman, Pattinson joining the DCU does not seem to be on the cards.

As of now, we can only wait for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom to release in theaters, so all our questions can be answered.
