‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ Gets New Fan Art Poster

A brand-new poster for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings shows a fan’s inspired take on the upcoming Marvel movie’s official poster.

The second Phase Four film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will follow Master of Kung Fu, Shang-Chi’s (Simu Liu) battle with destiny as he is forced to join his father’s notorious Ten Rings organization.

Now, digital artist Nicolas Tetreault-Abel has taken to Instagram to share his poster design for the movie.

The piece uses the same Simu Liu picture from the official poster and has altered it slightly by forgoing the bottom half and adding a pair of hands in a martial art-like stance instead.

Furthermore, it sees Shang-Chi surrounded by a halo of ten rings in a Chinese background and the other characters right above a fight between him and the Death Dealer. Check out the image here:

Nicolas’ art comes as an exceptional piece since the artist is known for his highly photoshopped edits of major franchises, specifically Marvel.

Not only is the edit an excellent representation of the elements the movie is setting to portray, but it also replicates the energy of the teaser.

Marvel Entertainment released the official teaser and poster back in April to a warm reception of fans who praised it for its predominantly Asian casting and intensive action sequences.

Besides the MCU’s much-anticipated multiverse, Shang-Chi will introduce the real Mandarin and the Ten Rings’ history, thus expanding the universe’s lore like no other Marvel film before.

It could also help reboot characters like Iron Fist, who was previously misrepresented in the television series.

Cast members involved have expressed their intention of paying homage to the iconic character’s legacy and the importance of its cultural impact as a whole.

Simu Liu, who is himself a stuntman, has reportedly done a majority of his own stunts, and director Daniel DaeCretton has referenced Jackie Chan’s Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon as one of the major influences for the film.

Although promotions are yet to begin in full swing, with three months to go until its release, fans will likely be getting a horde of information in the form of teasers, images, etc., soon.

But until new material is dropped, fan arts like these are a welcome distraction to bide the time.
