The first two episodes of Star Wars: The Bad Batch season 2 weren’t insanely complicated like Star Wars installments generally are. After more than a year’s hiatus, they helped us slowly ease into the Bad Batch mode.
The animated Star Wars series has always been refreshing, primarily because it features something as inconspicuous as the Clone Force 99 or the Bad Batch.
They are already up and running from the word go and end up stealing from the Empire’s territory in the pilot episode itself!
So, let’s find out what future episodes have in store for us!
1. Season 2, Episode 3 Synopsis/Speculation
The first two episodes have very contrasting names. The pilot is named ‘Spoils of War’, and the reason is evident from the first scene itself.
The Bad Batch members are seen fighting crab-like creatures on an unknown planet and trying to escape with a container. They finally flee from the planet and arrive back at Cid’s Parlor.
The container seems to carry something valuable, which is not revealed to us. Does it have cash that the members will use to fuel a mutiny against the Empire?
Talking about mutiny, the second episode is called ‘Ruins of War’, in contrast with the phrase ‘Spoils of War’. One means victory, while the other means defeat.
Episode 2 contains two decisive events that will directly affect next week’s installments. Firstly, Vice Admiral Rampart realizes that the Bad Batch is still alive.
Not wanting to lose face in front of Tarkin, he kills Captain Wilco to keep it a secret. In classic Imperial fashion, Rampart doesn’t shy away from killing his men, but he now knows the group is out there.
I am curious to see how far he goes to keep it a secret. Will he send an army of Clone Troopers to fight the Bad Batch? Is it just possible that he employs Crosshair to kill his friends?
Whatever he does, he will try his best to keep everything under the radar.
Secondly, we know that Rampart isn’t in the main Star Wars trilogy. I think Tarkin will learn about the Bad Batch being alive and kill Rampart.
Was his killing Captain Wilco a foreshadowing of his own death? I won’t be surprised if that happens!

4. Where to Watch Star Wars: The Bad Batch
5. Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2, Episode 2 Recap
In episode 2 of Star Wars: The Bad Batch, the group continues its fight against the Clone Troopers to recover one of Count Dooku’s war chests from his ruined castle.
As Wrecker and Hunter try to get out, the container slips over and goes down a cliff.
They use an elevator to reach a lower level and then try to make their escape. Meanwhile, Captain Wilco orders his forces to seal the entire city.
Omega comes across a man called Romar, who says he is one of the city’s survivors, and takes them to a nearby shelter.
Meanwhile, Wrecker fashions a makeshift canoe from the tanks and helps them get out of the clutches of the clones.
Tech attacks the clones and manages to keep them at bay for some time with the help of Romar. This enables Hunter and Wrecker to get back to Marauder.
They destroy the gunship just when the Marauder picks them up and escape.
Elsewhere, Admiral Rampart goes nuts when he hears that the Bad Batch is alive. In order to save himself from Tarkin, he commands Captain Wilco to keep it a secret.
Ultimately, he ends up killing Wilco so that the news about the Bad Batch remains a secret.
6. About Star Wars: The Bad Batch
Star Wars: The Bad Batch is an American animated show created by Dave Filoni for Disney+. It is both a sequel and a spin-off of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The series’ renewal was announced right before season 1’s two-part finale.
Dee Bradley Baker reprises his role as voice actor for all the clone troopers from the previous Star Wars animated projects. Additionally joining him are Ming-Na Wen, Stephen Stanton, Andrew Kishino and Michelle Ang.
The Bad Batch follows the elite and experimental troopers of Clone Force 99 as they find their way in a rapidly changing galaxy in the immediate aftermath of the Clone Wars. Choosing to become an independent group of mercenaries the show will see them undertake dangerous missions.
