Green Arrow Actor Comments on His Return in The Flash S9 

The CW cleared its table of all Arrowverse shows last year, save The Flash, which started as a spinoff of the show that started it all, i.e., Arrow. This week, Green Arrow actor Stephen Amell announced he’ll be returning to the Arrowverse in the last season of The Flash.  

But only days after the announcement video, Amell returned to Instagram to share his sole regret about the announcement regarding his comeback. In the following video, the actor who played Oliver Queen confessed he was hasty about posting the reveal on social media and would have favored his return to remain a surprise. 

The actor also feels that the cat would have come out of the bag sooner or later since someone was bound to spot him in the Vancouver shoot. He’s glad to have taken hold of the narrative but admits a surprise would’ve been the way to go and stated he’ll be keeping mum about any other details going forward. 

Considering Amell’s character served as the Arrowverse’s starting point, it only makes sense for Wallace and his team to have the actor come on board for the closing of the media franchise.  

And Amell is not the only Arrowverse actor returning to the CW for The Flash season 9! Other returning characters include Dreamer (Supergirl), John Diggle (Green Arrow), and Kid Flash. 

Season 9 will mark the end of the Arrowverse and will also make The Flash, the longest-running series of the franchise. The new season will likely introduce Red Death as one of the antagonists, although the details are being kept under wraps. 

Season 9 of The Flash will premiere on February 8, 2023, consisting of 13 episodes, so fasten your seatbelts for the last race of fastest man alive.
