The Boys’ Herogasm Trailer Comes out with a Scarringly Long Content Warning

The Boys just released a trailer for their infamous episode, Herogasm. And the content warning at the beginning of the short promo clip says it all.

Airing on Amazon Prime Video on June 24, 2022, the sixth episode of the third season of The Boys, Herogasm, will lay it all bare—quite literally. Herogasm is the yearly festival where America’s superheroes converge in a secret remote location for a full-blown orgy party sponsored by Vought.

Garth Ennis, the writer and creator behind the Herogasm issue of The Boys comics, says that the event was meant to be like the superhero team-ups in Marvel and DC but given the tasteful twist of The Boys universe.

The cast has given amusing reactions to the depravity that follows the episode’s storyline in several interviews. Jensen Ackles, the latest entry in The Boys playing Soldier Boy, claims his experience of shooting Herogasm was “traumatizing.” Erin Moriarty, who plays Starlight (Annie January), notes that the shoot went on for five days of 12-hour shoots, every day “amusing, hilarious, and scarring at the same time.”

In a short new trailer, a lengthy disclaimer warning first pops up, promising that the episode’s content “is not suitable for any audience.” Short reactionary clips follow the warning depicting what’s to be expected by characters and audiences alike, as the original post claims this is the “only footage legal would approve to show you ahead of time”. Here’s the original post:

While some changes from the comics are to be expected following the difference in the show made previously, showrunner Eric Kripke promises that the wild depravity and insanely shocking factors will remain.

Anyone who is a fan of the books and that particular volume of ‘Herogasm,’ I can just tell you, you’re definitely going to get the full ‘Herogasm’ experience. There’s just no question.”

Some speculations have been made as to what we can expect to see in the episode before the trailer’s release. While the more sexually graphic scenes might not be recreated, we can surely expect mountains of cocaine, rivers of booze, unfiltered language, and hedonistic solos from our heroes.

The sixth episode has already got much on its list to fulfill fans’ expectations, but more questions are waiting to be answered. Will A-Train make his return to the Seven fully? What did Homelander do to Queen Maeve? Is it truly the end of Stan Edgar’s rule on Vought? Stay tuned to know!

About The Boys

The Boys is an American satirical superhero streaming television series developed by Eric Kripke for Prime Video. Based on the comic book of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, which was originally published by DC Comics under their Wildstorm imprint before moving to Dynamite Entertainment, it follows the eponymous team of vigilantes as they combat superpowered individuals who abuse their abilities.

The show is a satirical take on the superhero genre and showcases a world where superheroes are corporatized and controlled by companies. What happens when these superheroes step out of line and rub some boys the wrong way, is the story.
