The episode count for WandaVision has been revealed before its upcoming premiere. Initially thought to be only six episodes long, Marvel Studios has revealed that their first TV show on Disney+ will consist of nine episodes. A post from Disney Latino had earlier said that the show would have an eight-week run, which hints at a two-episode premiere or finale.
WandaVision will revolve around Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch and Vision, who are trying to live their married life in happy suburbia (read sitcom world) when they realize that not everything is as it seems. Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany star in the lead roles. Kathryn Hahn, Randall Park, Kat Dennings, and Teyonnah Harris also star in the series.
A new trailer was released a few days ago to tease the fans about WandaVision’s storyline. It further built up the hype surrounding the show’s plot and introduced the theme songs of the show- a feature that accompanied every classic sitcom from the yesteryears. It has been announced that the songs for WandaVision will be created by Frozen’s Robert Lopez and Kristen-Anderson Lopez.
The anticipation regarding WandaVision has been high for a long time, especially because details regarding the show have been a close-guarded secret. Apart from the show being a first of its kind, the characters and their story have intrigued fans. Wanda and Vision were last seen together in Avengers: Infinity War (2018), where Thanos killed Vision.
His return and their subsequent married life, in what looks like the world of sitcoms, have kept fans guessing about what could actually be going on. The show is the first project of Marvel’s ambitious Phase 4 and will, according to rumors, explore the heights of Scarlet Witch’s powers, who is often called the strongest Avenger.
WandaVision will debut on Disney+ on January 15th, 2021. Episodes will be released every week, culminating into a season finale in March.
