Jeff Loveness wrote and directed the first Phase Five film of the MCU, which introduced us to the next Avengers-level threat – the Council of Kangs. The Ant-Man 3 director is also the writer for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, where Earth 616’s mightiest heroes will go against the big bad after Thanos.
In an interview with Polygon, Loveness has revealed the only hope that the Avengers have against all the Kangs, and the answer might surprise you. Read his quote below:
If you go back and watch the movie [Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania] and listen to what he’s saying, we’re in a lot of trouble because he was the only thing that can stop these guys.

So, there you have it! The Avengers 5 writer also wished luck to the heroes who don’t rely on superpowers, like Hawkeye, Moon Knight, and Daredevil, against the main antagonist of the 2025 film, hinting that they will not be a match against the Council of Kangs.
Loveness’ above statement also hints that a future-team up between the new Avengers teams and Kang the Conqueror is the only shot at defeating the Council. This can also be read as a confirmation of the popular theory about the exiled one not being dead and just in hiding.
The Ant-Man 3 director also states that Kang the Conqueror wasn’t lying when he said that he’s the only one standing between the destruction of the Multiverse at the hands of his variants. That makes sense since the Council of Kangs exiled him to the Quantum Realm, devoid of his powers and Time Chair, to ensure he could not re-access the Multiverse.
Suppose the conqueror truly is the Avengers’ only hope against the Council of Kangs. In that case, another theory claiming Victor Timely of Loki season 2 is just his disguise might be spot on, and he is currently waiting for the right opportunity to strike.
