Marvel Studios’ Secret Invasion is going to shake up the MCU.
Not only does the Disney+ series have the Mother of Dragons, Emilia Clarke, herself, but also features Samuel L. Jackson’s much-loved character Nick Fury returning after his outer-galactic vacation.
New photos of Jackson in character on-set in Leeds have surfaced online, but there’s something strange about his look. Similar to the first look images, the set photos show Fury donning a much older look than we last saw him, and he has also ditched his iconic eye-patch.
So, this begs the question of whether it’s really Nick Fury or someone else. As Secret Invasion comic’s storyline follows the Skrulls’ infiltration of Earth, not even the Avengers can trust one another as anyone can be an imposter.

Last seen in Spider-Man: Far From Home, Talos and Soren were posing as Nick Fury and Maria Hill, but it wasn’t technically an “invasion” as the real S.H.I.E.L.D. agents were chilling with the Skrulls in space.
Fury sure looks fiercer, but the timeline might be askew. Jackson was previously de-aged for Captain Marvel (2019), which was set in 1995, so maybe this might just be another timeline slip.

Clarke, whose role has not yet been disclosed, was also spotted shooting scenes in Leeds city center. Since Friday, parts of the city have been closed off for the series’ filming.
These on-set photos come just a short while after it was confirmed that Cobie Smulders would reprise her role of Maria Hill for the series.
Recently there have been speculations about Secret Invasion being delayed to 2023 from its original 2022 release.
However, as Fury is also set to appear in The Marvels, which has a release date set for February 17, 2023, a late-2022 premiere for the series seems inevitable.

Secret Invasion is an upcoming television show on Disney+. It is based on the Marvel comic of the same name and will be a part of Marvel’s Phase Five.
The show will focus on Nick Fury and the alien race of the Skrulls, who have been infiltrating the Earth for years.
Cast members include Samuel L. Jackson, Don Cheadle, Colbie Smulders, Martin Freeman, Ben Mendelsohn, Olivia Colman, Emilia Clarke, and Kingsley Ben-Adir. It will be released on June 21, 2023.
