In last week’s episode, Phantom Girl introduces herself to Superboy and tells him how they got stuck in the Phantom Zone. She believes that the Phantom Zone is a buffer zone between Mars and her home dimension and that they got stuck when she tried to phase them out after the explosion. Meanwhile, Violet struggles to navigate their feelings after Harper confessed she’d like to be more than friends and shares her concerns in group therapy.

Phantom Girl tries to tell Superboy about Zod’s problematic past. Superboy snitches on her and tells Zod she tried to phase him out. He grabs her and tries to get her to kneel before Zod. She refuses to do so and phases away. How will Superboy get out of the Phantom Zone now?

The episode opens in Markovia and we see a young metahuman being chased by people that are not welcoming of his kind. Brion and the Infinitors arrive just in time to save him and one of the thugs is revealed to be Everyman who’d disguised himself. Back in Ivy Town, Harper helps Violet move into her dorm and ends up confessing to Violet that she wants to be more than friends.

Meanwhile, in the Phantom zone, Phantom Girl speaks to Superboy in private. She explains how their situation came to be—they ended up getting stuck here when she tried to phase him from the explosion on Mars back to her home dimension of Bgztl. She believes that the Phantom Zone is a buffer between the two.  She tries to use her powers to phase them out again, but Superboy resists, claiming he can’t leave because he’s pledged himself to Zod.

Nightwing and the gang are able to locate the bus. However, they find it crushed into a cube. Violet shares her concerns at the group therapy session at the Youth Center. Tara tells Violet that they shouldn’t have to put their life on hold and that Brion made his choices. Violet checks their phone and sees Brion still hasn’t responded to their text messages.
